Made with Love, From my Hands to Yours

Rewind about two decades, you'd find me at the ripe age of three, sitting on the floor with a pile of beads, meticulously sorting them into piles. I couldn't have explained to you why I was so mesmerized by these tiny colorful pieces of acrylic material, and to be honest I'm not all that sure I could explain it to you now. All I knew was that I loved beads. And as I would later rediscover in my early 20s, that love never went anywhere.

In the midst of some very trying life circumstances, I turned to handmade art as a way to cope, take my mind off of things, and give me a reason to get out of bed each day. I spent hours and hours crocheting every day, with the repetitive handwork soothing my anxious mind. Having something tactile I was creating with my two hands helped get me through some very difficult times, and still does.

In 2023 I rediscovered the world of beads and handmade jewelry and found myself instantly drawn to it. The overwhelming sense of calm and satisfaction that I had when designing my very first beaded creations felt like a warm blanket being wrapped around my mind, and had me hooked from day one.

On August 14, 2023, I opened my shop to share my little sparkly creations with the world and hopefully find my pieces some wonderful new homes. Starla Boutique is a home for all of the fruits of my creative labors, including jewelry, crochet, other beaded accessories, and hopefully more exciting items to come in the near future...

I am so grateful to have you here, and equally as grateful to have rediscovered my passion for handmade creations in the midst of an especially difficult couple of years. Art has been one of very few constants throughout my life, always bringing me back to a place I feel at home in.

As some of you may know, I originally started selling on Etsy, however after 3 years of running my business I've realized it's time for a new chapter, and creating my own shop is the beginning of that!

Thank you for visiting Starla Boutique and for taking the time to read about how my little business came to be. I hope you'll stay and take a peek around, and maybe even find something special you'd like to call your own.
